Are you interested in learning more about animal care? We're looking for someone who loves dogs and wants to help our busy kennel staff by assisting them with doggy play times and leashed walks. Our dogs are played individually, not as a group, every day; and we call our leashed walks, Sniffari's! A Sniffari is an opportunity for the dogs who are boarding with us to go for a leashed walk with a caring human; sniff the grass and flowers, push the snow with their nose, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Individual walks are 20 minutes in duration and remain on our semi-rural 3-acre property. Our trainers will show you how to safely and properly play and walk a dog, and can be available for questions. Dogs come in all sizes--from 10 lbs all the way up to 150 lbs, and some of those larger dogs can really pull on leash! Please only apply if you like working outdoors (rain or shine; unless we are experiencing extreme weather, dogs get out to play), you can physically handle being on your feet for a few hours, and can physically handle a large dog pulling on leash.

 

SAFETY is very important to us; we will require that you take instruction from our trainers, follow our rules for safety, monitor each dog you handle with loving care, pick up after a dog if they soil while on the walk, helps us track in our software management system (Gingr) which dogs have been played and walked, and immediately communicate to management any behavioral or health issues you observe.

DAYS / HOURS: 3 to 4 weekdays and Saturdays between 10AM and 3PM, hours and days flexible depending on kennel occupancy and your desire and availability to assist with other kennel functions.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS: As a part-time employee, you will be included in our Tips sharing (every pay period!), eligible for bonuses, participation in 401k, and our healthcare primary care benefit.

The ideal candidate will have animal handling and care experience. Knowledge of dog training a plus. The dogs in our care and your teammates will depend greatly on you arriving ready for work, on time, and in a positive frame of mind.
